I am Fangyuan PENG(彭方园).

I am a postdoctoral fellow at the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Hong Kong.  I obtained my Ph.D. in Urban Governance and Design from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in August 2023.

My research intersects development economics and environmental economics, with a particular focus on how industrial policy and international cooperation shape structural transformation and environmental outcomes across the Global South.  In particular, I explore how the spillover effects of China's industrial and environmental policies shape sustainable development in the rest of the world, especially developing economies, as well as how to design efficient industrial and environmental policies. 

I have a publication in the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy and the Journal of International Economics.
