I am Fangyuan PENG(彭方园).

I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Institute of World Economy, School of Economics, Fudan University. Previously, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Hong Kong. I received my Ph.D. in Urban Governance and Design from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in August 2023. 

My research focuses on development economics and environmental economics. My work examines how industrial policy and international cooperation shape structural transformation and environmental outcomes across the Global South. In particular, I explore how spillovers from China’s industrial and environmental policies affect sustainable development in other countries, especially developing economies.

My work has been published in the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy and the Journal of International Economics.
