I am Fangyuan PENG(彭方园).

I am a postdoctoral fellow at the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Hong Kong.  I obtained my Ph.D. in Urban Governance and Design from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in August 2023.

My research intersects environmental economics and international trade, with a particular focus on how environmental policies and international cooperation shape welfare outcomes in developing economies. My job market paper examines the welfare consequences of Southeast Asian agricultural exports when accounting for transboundary pollution costs, demonstrating the central role of international cooperation in addressing environmental externalities.

I have a publication in the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy and have a paper with R&R at the Journal of International Economics.
